Fluenta asked us to create content around their FGM 160 flare gas meter, the ultrasonic system that measures flare gas in the harsh environments of the oil and gas industry. The work had to do more than one job. It needed to become an interactive experience for their website and events, a standalone video for event screens, and a set of shorter cuts for social media. So we built it to be flexible from the start, one piece of work that could be broken down and used in several ways.

The challenge

Gas monitoring is hard to show. The gas itself is invisible, the measurement happens inside the pipe, and the value of the FGM 160 sits in accuracy and reliability, neither of which you can point a camera at. The challenge was visualising all of that, making the technology and what it does clear to viewers who don't work in flow measurement, while keeping it accurate enough for those who do.

We used 3D animation to open up the parts of the process a camera can't reach, showing how the ultrasonic measurement works inside the pipe and why it stays accurate where other methods struggle. The content was built in sections from the outset, so the same work could run as an interactive experience, play as a full video at events, and split cleanly into short clips for social. Keeping a consistent look across all of those formats gave Fluenta a single, coherent story about the FGM 160 that works on a stand, on their website and in a feed, without needing a separate production for each.
