Solarport asked us to create a CGI animation to launch their PowerPark PRO commercial solar carport range. The film had to introduce the product across their website, social channels and event screens, so it needed to look good at any size and land quickly with people who might only watch for a few seconds. The aim was to show what PowerPark PRO does, turning ordinary car parks into sites that generate clean energy, and to make the range feel considered and well built.

The challenge

PowerPark PRO comes in four series, each suited to a different car park layout and orientation. The hardest part was showing that range without losing the viewer. We had to give a sense of the choice on offer, the south-facing and east/west options, the different module counts, while keeping the story simple and the product easy to read. It also had to work as one piece across web, social and events, rather than four separate explanations.

The solution

We built the carports in 3D and placed them in a believable car park setting, so the scale and the everyday use were clear from the first frame. The animation moves through the range in a way that shows how the variants relate to each other, using clean camera moves and considered pacing rather than on-screen clutter. The steel structure and solar panels were rendered accurately, so the product looks as solid as it is in reality. The result gives Solarport one launch asset that works across every channel and makes the case for turning car parks into energy assets without a word of explanation needed.
